Mission and Goals
Our mission is to create a collaborative space that integrates creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy, and allows us to share research with today’s technologically driven world. We envision a state-of-the-art communication hub where researchers from all disciplines can work together to study how science, technology, and the humanities shape – and are shaped by – our society, culture, politics, and the environment. The Collaboratory provides the necessary space and technology to conduct important research and to convey the impact of that work to the public.
The goals of the Collaboratory are:
- Encourage interdisciplinary research and scholarship with a focus on humanities and social sciences
- Support the use of digital tools to further research
- Investigate critical scientific and social challenges
- Effectively communicate research to a wider audience
- Promote community engagement and awareness
- Support student learning with hands-on opportunities to integrate skills from STEM and the humanities
Hours
The Collaboratory will be open during the following times for the fall 2024 semester.
Monday: 11-12, 1-3
Tuesday: 9-12, 1-2
Wednesday: 9-11, 12-4
Thursday: 12:30-3:30
Friday: 9-12, 3-4
